Doctors, Nurses Are Mobile at Waterbury Hospital with Cisco Wireless Solution from ChimeNet
A hospital undergoing enormous upgrades needs to overhaul its wireless network, expanding coverage from two to all nine floors of its facility. It also needed sub-second data delivery to mobile computers-on-carts for physicians and staff. A high degree of network security was necessary to adhere to Federal HIPAA regulations. Pre-existing patient monitoring technology had to stay in place, so the new networking solution had to integrate seamlessly with that existing technology.
Click here to read how Cisco Premier Certified Partner ChimeNet's pre-deployment services, such as extensive site surveying, made the project a total success and a showcase wireless solution for ChimeNet. The computer carts remain connected in every part of the facility, and complete redundancy is in place. The Cisco encryption standard allows for mobile computer sign-on while helping to ensure data security. This secure, wireless mobility means that nurses and physicians are spending more face-time with patients.
